I have spent the last two days in Ohrid-and I have to say what a beautiful place.

By the lake which is very big surrounded by incredible mountains.

It has a real relaxed holiday vibe to the town- came across so many different nationalities-

the atmosphere in the evening is wonderful- pedestrian boulevard is, lots of cafes, restaurants, bars, music playing all by the lake.

The people here are so friendly and helpful.

I left early this morning and headed to the border with Albania, all that went very well- I did not have the right insurance but not a problem-

the very lovely and beautiful Albanian border guard ( a girl just in case you think my preferences have changed !! ) pointed me to a hut where I could buy the relevant insurance for €20 and I was on my way within 15 minutes.

Took about four hours to drive just over 100 miles,- the roads are OK — but the traffic is slow -however the scenery is stunning.

Stopped a couple of times for coffee etc and every time people were so friendly.

When I got to Berat — my Garmin GPS got very confused- she took me to the wrong part of town !!!

However yet again local people came to the rescue and everything was fine. The weather is just boiling hot.
